ELC HELPS MANATEE CHILDREN’S SERVICES GAP PROGRAM FAMILIES CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING EARLY
Palmetto, Florida, November 15th, 2018 – Children and families from Manatee Children’s Services GAP Program will celebrate Thanksgiving early with the Crewe of De Soto at a Thanksgiving Luncheon on Saturday, November 17th.
The Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County, Hernando De Soto Historical Society, Feeding Tampa Bay, and Demetrios’ Pizza House are sponsoring the event, which will take place at Manatee Children’s Services (1227 9th Avenue W., Bradenton, FL 34205) from 11:30am-1:30pm on Saturday. The Crewe of De Soto will be on-hand to serve food and interact with the families. It is expected that more than 120 children and families will be in attendance.
The GAP Program participants are relatives that have taken on the responsibility of raising children within their families for various reasons, including drugs/alcohol, deaths, or not being able or willing to take care of their children. Many of the participating families may not otherwise have a Thanksgiving holiday. This annual event enables the families to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, celebrate the holiday, and express gratitude for their families and communities.
Paul Sharff, ELC Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted to sponsor the GAP Program Thanksgiving Luncheon. This event is a wonderful opportunity to help children and families in Manatee County during the holidays.”
