Eastman’s Faculty Artist Series presents several August and September concerts:
– Russell Miller, Professor of Vocal Coaching and Repertoire at Eastman, Wednesday, August 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall. The concert, with guest artist Jolyon Pegis, cello, features works by Debussy, Fauré, and Ravel.
– Jazz & Contemporary Media Faculty Concert, a performance consisting of nine faculty members, Tuesday, September 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall at the Eastman School of Music. This concert is made up of faculty members Charles Pillow, saxophone, Clay Jenkins, trumpet, Mark Kellogg, trombone, Bob Sneider, guitar, Gary Versace, Bill Dobbins, and Dariusz Terefenko, piano, Jeff Campbell, bass, and Rich Thompson, drums. Program TBD.
– Alexander Kobrin, Assistant Professor of Piano, Thursday, September 6, at 7:30 p.m., in Kilbourn Hall, at the Eastman School of Music. Kobrin will be playing Chopin: Piano Sonatas No. 1-3.
– Tony Caramia, Professor of Piano, at Eastman, Sunday, September 30, at 3:00 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall. Caramia is also Director of Piano Pedagogy Studies, Coordinator of the Class Piano Program, and an Affiliate Faculty of Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media at Eastman. The concert, with guest artists and Eastman faculty members Bob Sneider, Clay Jenkins, Rich Thompson, and Jeff Campbell, is titled, “A European Travelogue.” It will feature jazz compositions by European composers including Martinu, Vladigerov, Schulhoff, Zawinul, and Shearing, as well as contemporary women jazz pianists.
