Designing Women Boutique Hires New Executive Director
(Sarasota,FL). In their continued commitment to grow meaningful support for our community’s arts and human services, DWB Board of Trustees President Ida Zito, and DWB Co-founders Jean Weidner Goldstein, Diane Roskamp, and Margaret Wise announce their latest decision to move forward in the next and most promising phase of Designing Women Boutique.
Susan E. Jackewicz has accepted the position of Executive Director, effective March 2, 2015. Susan has had significant retail experience with Neiman Marcus and the May Department Stores Company/Filene’s Division. Her proven record of sales increases and customer satisfaction demonstrates she possesses the customer service skills and operating experience paramount in directing Designing Women. Combined with her senior level marketing expertise and participation in numerous of our community’s charitable endeavors, DWB feels extremely fortunate to have found someone with a big heart for good work and an inspirational leader.
The principles and goals guiding the founding of Designing Women are as relevant today as they were in 2002. The events of 9/11 underscored the Boutique’s direction of meaningful purpose – finding a way to support the arts organizations that contribute so much richness to our lives, and to our human services organizations, helping those in most need. Over time Designing Women Boutique has collected, displayed, and sold select fashions and furniture, generating over $1.75M in grants to over 70 non-profit organizations.
DWB’s next phase will build more capacity to increase Boutique sales and events, enabling even more opportunities for grant awards to the community. There are new opportunities for volunteering, new ways to donate and consign items while downsizing, liquidating, redecorating, or renewing a wardrobe. Residents and visitors are encouraged to read the weekly NewsFlash, visit the Boutique and the renewed Upper Level Estate Galleries, and attend one or all of DWB’s nine Salon Series lectures scheduled for 2015.
