Warner Bros. Records:
Wanted to share this new song from Delta Rae with you. The band was, quite understandably, horrified by the events in Charleston, SC on Wednesday night, especially as it hit quite close to home for them, based in Durham, NC. So they wrote and recorded this protest song, “All Good People,” as a means to express their “outrage, sadness, and insistence that things must change.”
Delta Rae writes:
“Our hearts and prayers are with the families of those killed in Charleston, SC last night. These tragedies have got to STOP…It’s time to push our leaders to act. All good people must raise their voices. We need to protect every member of our community from hate and racism. And we need to stop so much of this violence by limiting access to guns…This is not the country we want to be. These actions do not represent our values.”
Please listen to and share the song, an addition to the ongoing conversation.

All Good People
There are dogs in the yard
Howling at the moon
There are sinners like me
Our judgement’s coming soon
And I stand at the bottom
Of this dark and lonely well
Saying please give me answers
So I might escape hell
I watched from my window
As they gunned down unarmed men
Tried to say it’s not my problem
Couldn’t happen to my friends
But the truth is they’re my brothers and they’re my countrymen
And if we lose our better angels
We won’t get them back again
Come on and raise your voice
Above the raging sea
We can’t hold our breath forever
When our brothers cannot breathe
All good people, won’t you come around
And defend your brother
All good people, won’t you come around
Hold up each other
