COWBOY SANTAS TOY DRIVE CONCLUDES AT GLOBE LIFE PARK

Rangers announce autograph schedule for Monday night

Arlington, TX – The Texas Rangers will host their annual Cowboy Santas Toy Drive Finale Event on Monday, December 17 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

This marks the eighth consecutive year in which the Rangers have been involved in the holiday initiative, which provides toys to children from low-income Tarrant County families during the holiday season.

Rangers’ pitcher Chris Martin, the honorary chair of this year’s event, will be joined by other Rangers personalities scheduled to include Elvis Andrus, Willie Calhoun, Nick Gardewine, Joey Gallo, Taylor Hearn, Jose Trevino, Chris Woodward, Steve Buechele and Jeff Russell. Broadcasters Matt Hicks, Dave Raymond, Tom Grieve, Eleno Ornelas and Jose Guzman are also expected to be on hand. (NOTE: individuals are subject to change)

Rangers Broadcasters Eric Nadel and Emily Jones will also be on hand to sign copies of their new books, Lim-Eric! (Nadel)and Something Special in the Stands (Jones).

Holiday movies will be shown on the video screen, the Rangers KidsZone will be open, and refreshments will be provided by Delaware North Sportservice. Other activities will include face painting, crafts, a photo booth, and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys and books for boys and girls, newborn to age 12, are greatly encouraged.

Festivities will take place in Vandergriff Plaza. Fans attending the Toy Drive event may park in Lot C free of charge and enter Globe Life Park through the Grand Slam Gift Shop.

The Cowboy Santas Toy Drive results in the collection of thousands of new, unwrapped toys that are distributed to children in need in Tarrant County. Individuals can also drop off new unwrapped toys or books at either the Texas Rangers Grand Slam Gift Shop at Globe Life Park in Arlington or the Rangers Fort Worth Team Shop at 316 Main St. during regular store hours. Items may also be dropped off at all Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments. The deadline for dropping off toys at the above locations is Monday night.

About Cowboy Santas: The Cowboy Santas Program Inc. is a non-profit program that provides toys to children from low-income Tarrant County families during the holiday season. The program began in 1981 at several Fort Worth Community Centers, and over the last two decades, has grown to cover all of Tarrant County. Cowboy Santas is recognized by the Internal Revenue Services as a 501 C(3) charitable organization.

The program is headquartered in the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department. During the holiday season, Cowboy Santas provides toys for up to 10,000 children from more than 5,000 families.
