CONTENT SAVES BULLETS FOR CANNES
Content Media Acquires Worldwide Sales Rights to Adam Rehmeier’s Intense Action Feature “Save a Bullet For Me”
Los Angeles, CA – May 1, 2015 – Content Media announced today that it has acquired worldwide sales rights to Adam Rehmeier’s “Save a Bullet For Me.”
Set in the late 1800’s, the film focuses on the aftermath of a Native American attack on a wagon train; where two wounded frontiersmen make a desperate last stand against a group of fearless young Braves, whose transition to manhood is defined by their ability to confront their enemies. The story pointedly does not take sides, but shows the honest clash of wills when the frontiersmen’s quest for a new life, comes up against the honorable duty of the Native Americans to protect their homeland from the relentless invaders.
Rehmeier wrote the screenplay for “Bullet” and is directing the film.
Distributors worldwide will be introduced the project in Cannes by Content’s President of Film Jamie Carmichael and Content’s Head of Sales, Harry White.
“This is a visceral ride, stripped down to the most primal fight-or-flight level possible,” says Rehmeier. “For me, this film is an opportunity to combine several of my favorite genres in an exciting way, to create something that hasn’t been seen before in the cinema – and to tell an important and balanced story about a very particular moment in the US’s history. I’m hoping the wall-to-wall action, the authenticity and intense emotion will captivate audiences worldwide.”
Carmichael said, “I was very drawn to the purity, skill and courage of the Native American warriors in the face of the invading enemy – and also to the courage of those frontiersmen who were so determined to create a new life for themselves. In this film we sympathize with both points of view, seeing it through the prism of two sets of men, fighting for their very existence.”
The film is produced by Mark Sandell (‘A Liar’s Autobiography’, ‘Believe’, ‘Absolutely Anything’), Sukee Chew from Hopscotch Pictures (‘Barely Lethal’, ‘Jesus Henry Christ’) and executive produced by Jamie Carmichael.
Adam Rehmeier is represented by Tanya Cohen and Adam Levine at Verve Talent and Literary agency, Sukee Chew at Hopscotch Pictures, and Pam Black at Ziffren Brittenham who brokered the deal on his behalf.
Currently in pre-production with casting underway, principal photography is slated to begin 3rd quarter 2015.
Producer Mark Sandell said, “I couldn’t put the script down and knew immediately I had to make it. It’s pure cinema. An exercise in tense, visceral action, which will be executed with a heightened sense of the ‘real’ as opposed to CG.”
“Save a Bullet For Me” is the latest elevated action project to join the expanding Content sales slate that also includes, Alex Gibney’s ‘Going Clear’, Bill Purple’s romantic tearjerker ‘Devil and The Deep Blue Sea’ starring Jason Sudeikis, Jessica Biel and Maisie Williams, the iconic documentary ‘Steve McQueen: The Man and Le Mans’, which is World Premiering in the Cannes Classics section of the Cannes Film Festival; Alex Winter’s ‘Deep Web’, narrated by Keanu Reeves, which chronicles the 2013 arrest of Ross William Ulbricht, the 30-year-old entrepreneur alleged to be “Dread Pirate Roberts” — founder of Silk Road;
Rodney Ascher’s ‘The Nightmare’; and the inspirational Billy Crudup starrer ‘Life At These Speeds.’
