Collection Features Remixes Of The Band’s New Single, “So Tied Up” Feat. Bishop Briggs
Cold War Kids Perform at Voodoo Music + Arts Experience In New Orleans This Weekend
Today, Cold War Kids release the So So So So Tied Up Remix EP at all digital partners. The six-set collection features remixes of the band’s current hit single, “So Tied Up” featuring British singer/songwriter, Bishop Briggs from Toby Green, Hanni El Khatib, Stint, 3L Sereno and Colin Callahan. The single is fast approaching Top 15 at Alternative Radio and TIME Magazine hailed the song as “enticing” and noted, “This one is a fast -paced toe tapper with a stadium-sized arrangement. As far as angsty passionate themes to conflicted love affairs go, this one ticks all the right boxes.”
Watch the official video here and a live acoustic performance Willett and Briggs recording “So Tied Up,” backed only by violin, cello and Willett on piano here.
Fresh off a sold-out North American headline tour and a fall tour with Young The Giant, Cold War Kids will also perform at New Orleans’ Voodoo Music + Arts Experience this this Sunday, October 29th and the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City, Mexico on November 18th and 19th. Tickets for all shows are available at coldwarkids.com.
Cold War Kids’ sixth studio album LA Divine is out now on Capitol Records. The album pays tribute to Los Angeles in all its strange glory, embodying Cold War Kids’ fascination with their adopted hometown. Produced by Lars Stalfors (Health, Local Natives), it debuted in Top 10 of Billboard’s Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts.
The Huffington Post said, “The soulful lyrics and sonic reverence of [LA Divine] is overwhelmingly compelling, addictive and even mesmerizing.” Entertainment Weekly observed, “[The album features] the gospel-tinged ‘No Reason to Run,’ eerie ‘Open to the Heavens,’ and dance-ready ‘Invincible.’ Album closer and highlight ‘Free to Breathe’ strips away flourishes, relying instead on minimal, ethereal instrumentation and frontman Nathan Willett’s vocals.”
For Record Store Day on Black Friday, November 24th, the band will also release an exclusive limited edition green 10″ vinyl of their Los Feliz Blvd EP which features alternate recordings from LA Divine and a cover of Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain” featuring Bishop Briggs.
Cold War Kids are Nathan Willett, Matt Maust, Joe Plummer, Matthew Schwartz, and David Quon. Formed in 2004 in Fullerton, CA, the band has sold more than 800,000 adjusted albums, over two million singles, and racked up over 200 million streams to date.
