Driving Miss Daisy is generously underwritten by Dick and Edith Kapash with Frank Schomer. The creative team features Nathan Cummings (director), Wayne Hovey (scenery and lights), Lisa Eldredge (costumes), Joe Winkler (sound), and Cinnabar is proud to announce the addition of original music by Jonathan Beard (composer).

“A sought after composer in Los Angeles, Jonathan is a Sonoma County native who grew up coming to Cinnabar,” said Artistic Director Elly Lichenstein. “He’s worked with the Colorado Symphony, the St. Lawrence String Quartet, the LA Master Chorale, and other respected organizations as well as on television and film. He’s been nominated for an NAACP Theater Award for the score he created to this show for Sierra Madre Playhouse. We are pleased to welcome him home and proud to include his music in our production as well.”

When an elderly widow crashes her car, her son insists that she hire a driver – and the result is a unique friendship formed across the barriers of class and race. Driving Miss Daisy became a huge success on stage and on film. Alfred Uhry’s poignant script won the Pulitzer Prize, the Golden Globe, and the Academy Award on its way to becoming an American classic. The talented cast for this show features Cinnabar favorite Laura Jorgensen, Dorian Lockett from Of Mice & Men, and popular performer John Browning. Come for a ride with Cinnabar to see the heartwarming and humorous show that has delighted millions of people around the world.
