I’m thrilled to report that because of your support of my music, my new album ‘The Drop That Contained the Sea’ debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Classical Album chart. This is my first #1 album ever, and it wouldn’t have happened without you.

If you haven’t heard it yet, give it a listen! There are previews all over the web: on iTunesAmazon, and even YouTube. And if you have heard it, please consider leaving a review: that would really help me get the word out.

Some of you have also asked for a PDF copy of the liner notes, to follow along with the lyrics. They can be downloaded here:

And finally, I have a few live shows coming up for those of you in the LA area, and want to say hi:

June 7 and 8: the Angel City Chorale presents the west coast premiere of ‘The Drop That Contained the Sea’.  The ACC is one of the choirs featured prominently on the new album, and they recently participated in the Carnegie Hall world premiere.  Now they’re doing a reprise of the concert.  7:00 PM at the Wilshire United Methodist Church.  Visit angelcitychorale.org for more info.

June 11: I’ll be conducting the Civilization IV medley at Video Games Live at the Nokia Theatre in downtown LA.  Tickets and info at videogameslive.com.

June 13: my new flute/piccolo double concerto ‘Shinobu vs. Ghost Warrior’ is being performed by the Chamber Orchestra at St. Matthews in the Pacific Palisades.  This is a short piece that combines western classical music with both traditional Japanese and manga/anime influence.  In fact, it’s very much conceived as an arcade-style ‘battle’ between the flute and piccolo.  Come out for some genre-busting fun!  www.MusicGuildOnline.org.

Best,

Christopher
