Chicago indie / slack rockers Clearance have released the first single off of their debut album Rapid Rewards. The track entitled, “You’ve Been Pre-Approved,” is a perfect slice of indie rock gold, calling back to the classic days of Pavement, Television and Yo La Tengo.
Stereogum debuted the track yesterday saying,“It’s good old-fashioned alt-rock, and the Chicago foursome know what they’re doing, and know how to leave you satisfied by a song’s end.”
Over the past two years Clearance have been releasing singles and 7 inches independently in their hometown of Chicago. Last summer, Unsatisfied Records released a compilation tape called Catalogue Nos. which compiled all of their singles and unreleased material.
The Chicago Reader called the release “…a treatment in lo-fi, jangly indie rock, complemented by a hint of the infectious slacker attitude that made the mid-90s such a blase blast.”
Unsatisfied Records will be co-releasing their debut album Rapid Rewards with Chicago’s Tall Pat Records this Fall.
The band is currently in the middle of an East Coast tour. See dates below.
