Charlotte Arts seeks artists for 2nd Annual Art on the Harbor
Fine Arts Show part of Artlandish Weekend
Charlotte Arts announces that booth space is now available for this year’s Art on the Harbor. The fine arts show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, and will be held harborside on the Great Lawns of Four Points by Sheraton and the Charlotte Harbor Event & Convention Center in historic Punta Gorda.
Fine artists are invited to apply prior to October 23 to secure one of the 50 artist spaces. The event will give Southwest Florida artists the opportunity to showcase their latest works and event-goers will have the opportunity to purchase beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of art for either themselves, their offices or as holiday presents.
John Benande, who serves on the board for Charlotte Arts and is a past board president, is the chairman of the 2nd Annual Art on the Harbor. Benande attended the event last year and “was impressed with the variety of art available. When the Four Points hotel asked Charlotte Arts to take over the project, we were excited about what it could mean for Charlotte County’s residents and area tourists alike. It’s a great way for people to see the quality of art that is available to them, right here in their own backyard. It’s going to be a great event.”
The 2nd Annual Art on the Harbor fine arts show is part of Artlandish Weekend in Punta Gorda. Other Saturday events include iHeart Radio’s International Food Fare, plus the Downtown Punta Gorda Merchants Association’s Farmer’s Market, the annual Holly Jolly holiday sale at the Visual Arts Center, and the Lighting of the Village at Fishermen’s Village. Sunday’s festivities include the Farmer’s Market at the History Park, the second day of the International Food Fare, and opening night at the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.
Art on the Harbor applications are available by calling the Charlotte Arts office at 941-764-8100 or at www.artlandishweekend.com. The website will be continuously updated about Artlandish Weekend, including general information, maps, and entertainment schedules.
The Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County, also referred to as Charlotte Arts, is a non-profit organization recognized by the State of Florida and the Board of County Commissioners as the designated Local Arts Agency. In addition to the Art in Public Places, Café Philo, and art therapy training for dementia caregivers, Charlotte Arts is also well-known for its annual “Dancing with the Charlotte Stars” fundraiser, which pairs local celebrities with local dance studios for a competitive, but fun, evening of entertainment.
