CATFISH AND THE BOTTLEMEN UNLEASH NEW ALBUM ‘THE RIDE’ MAY 27
RELEASE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR “SOUNDCHECK”

March 23, 2016 — New York, NY — Catfish and The Bottlemen, winners of the 2016 BRIT Award for British Breakthrough Act, unleash their much anticipated new album The Ride [Capitol Records] on May 27, 2016. Pre-order is live now and available HERE. Fans who pre-order will receive an instant download of “Soundcheck.”
Today, the band also shares a new music video for the album’s first official single, “Soundcheck,” directed by Malia James: WATCH HERE.
Written by Van McCann and produced by D. Sardy, the album was recorded mostly in Los Angeles and features eleven bold and riffing new tracks that verge on the anthemic. With the explosive single “Soundcheck” quickly climbing the alternative radio charts, Catfish and The Bottlemen are ready to make 2016 their own.
“I feel like everybody started thinking too outside the box trying to be arty and different,” says Van. “We wanted to stay inside the box. I always say if you can play it on an acoustic guitar and win over a bar or a kitchen even of rowdy people…then you’ve done it…that’s how I see song writing.”
Unsurprisingly, the follow-up to their debut album The Balcony pulls no punches. From start to finish, The Ride bursts with gutsy high-octane tracks, offset by the two gorgeous acoustic songs “Glasgow” and “Heathrow.” These songs were made to be played live.
Kicking off with fan favorite “7,” the album features tracks about being together and being apart as accentuated on the measured angst of “Twice.” Other highlights include anthem in waiting “Oxygen” and the epic closer “Outside.”
Having made a name for themselves as one of the most compelling bands to watch live, Catfish and the Bottlemen play the following American shows in June after a Spring U.K. tour which sold out in an astonishing four minutes:
