Sarasota, FL – Over the last ten years the City of Sarasota has coordinated the North Sarasota Community Entrepreneur Opportunity (CEO) business course. The City and SCORE work in partnership with CareerSource Suncoast to present a 10-week Introduction to Business Development course.
“Throughout the years I’ve seen the CEO program create many opportunities for small business and entrepreneurship in the North Sarasota community,” says Ted Ehrlichman, President and CEO of CareerSource Suncoast. “This is a chance for entrepreneurs to gain the valuable knowledge they need to bring their business dreams to fruition. The time spent networking and building relationships with a group of peers is invaluable to someone starting a business on their own.”
The course focuses on the core basics for new and aspiring small business owners. Business consultants and other business experts will teach classes about business planning including market strategies, competitive analysis, financials, and operations and management plans. Through a combination of classroom training and mentoring, participants will have an opportunity to assess their business acumen and determine the strength of their business concept.
The next 10-week course is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 23. The course is from 6 – 9 p.m. each Tuesday, at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 John Rivers St. (1845 34th St.), in Sarasota. It is free and open to the public, and sponsored by SunTrust and Wells Fargo banks.
Attendance at the first two classes is required to go on to complete the 10-week course. While the course is free, attendance and participation are mandatory.
