August 22, 2016 – “Trouble,” the second single from Grammy-nominated band Cage The Elephant’s fourth studio album Tell Me I’m Pretty, tops the Alternative radio chart this week! In reaching #1 this week, Cage The Elephant’s “Trouble” becomes the band’s historic 7th Alternative #1.   They sit alongside the elite artists in radio format history – Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Green Day, U2 and Linkin Park – as the biggest airplay bands since the 1988 chart origin and most Billboard Alternative Songs No. 1s (all seven) since 2010; Muse & The Black Keys follow with four #1s each in that time span. In addition, Cage The Elephant extends its lead of most Alternative #1s in the past decade and becomes the first act to land three consecutive #1 Alternative singles in eight years, since Foo Fighters in 2007-08. Additionally, Cage The Elephant’s self-titled debut album was recently certified RIAA platinum.

Cage The Elephant released Tell Me I’m Pretty in December via RCA Records. The album was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys & The Arcs (Lana Del Rey, Ray LaMontagne, The Black Keys, The Arcs). Tell Me I’m Pretty pushes the advances the band made with their last record-2013’s Melophobia, which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Album – while also drawing from the sounds that initially inspired them to start making music. Long celebrated as one of the most explosive live bands in the world, Cage The Elephant has toured extensively, selling out several headlining runs including a summer 2016 arena tour and performing alongside The Black KeysFoo FightersMuse and Queens of the Stone Age.
