As told by WatchTheDuck,
“We call it The Trojan Horse because it is a way for us to gather all our friends, the artists we love, and literally sneak into culture with a sound that combines worlds.”

Known for their innovative fusion of thumping electronics, soulful melodies and trap-inspired beats, WatchTheDuck is the brainchild of duo Jesse Rankins (vocalist—A.K.A. “The Voice”) and Eddie Smith III (producer/DJ—A.K.A. “The Sound”). While demolishing genre boundaries and setting new benchmarks in today’s music scene, WatchTheDuck has experienced critical acclaim due to their fresh perspective on production and songwriting smarts, which has earned them the support of influential figures as diverse as Tip, Aoki and Williams.
Recently, Tip tapped WatchTheDuck to lend their techniques to “Light Em Up,” the track Billboard hailed as the “darkest and strongest cut” on his chart-topping 2014 album Paperwork. The duo has also collaborated with a slew of other artists, including Beyoncé, The-Dream, Afrojack, Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezy, SchoolBoy Q, Sevyn Streeter, and Pharrell Williams, among others. Already having a stellar catalogue of music, including previously releases such as the Black Music On Molly ReMixtape, Anatidaephobia EP and the critically acclaimed Don’t Watch Me mixtape, WatchTheDuck will follow The Trojan Horse with a full-length studio album in 2016. |
