“[American Family Theater’s] shows burst with energy, song and special effects…

their spirit is contagious.” – Leslie Bennett, The New York Times

Based on L. Frank Baum’s classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, this original musical tells the beloved story of Dorothy’s adventure over the rainbow as she follows the yellow brick road with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion towards the Emerald City and the mysterious Wizard who can help her get home.  Featuring original lyrics, music and book by Don Kersey, the hour-long performance features such songs as “Be Brave,” “Back Home,” and “It’s So Easy to be a Witch.”

Founded in 1975, American Family Theater (AFT) is the nation’s premier producer of musicals for families and young audiences, performing in over 300 venues each year. As a distinguished leader in the development of arts-in-education, all American Family Theater productions are designed to enrich and motivate, providing unique experiences for audiences of all ages to share.

Please note that this is NOT the MGM movie version of the story.
