September 2016
Book Signing and Concert for Charity Downtown Sarasota
A heartfelt event to help support “The Center for Discover”, where people with disabilities work hard to find a way forward as they shape lives of meaning.
Saturday, September 10th between 5pm and 9pm come and visit with author Walter Scherr at Sarasota’s newest casual dining experience Servandos located at 1525 4th St. Sarasota, FL 34236.
Walter will be available for conversation as well as the signing of your personal copy of his new internationally award winning book “Walter’s Way”.
Hear Walter speak about how we can turn this evening into our own epiphany. How we can help support the “The Center for Discovery” with our donations and/or purchase of his book. Proceeds can be made in the form of cash or credit which will go directly to The Center for Discovery.
Mingle with Sarasota’s own celebrity and radio host of the award winning show Phil’s Gang® on “THE OFF THE WALL STREET RADIO NETWORK®”.
The event will be hosted by Phil Grande as he takes you through the evening with his own twist on Walter and his book.
The evening continues with a concert featuring new local talent of “Jak’t”,” Store High in Transit” and “Heartland Express”.
It’s a fantastic time and place to hang out with friends and family to listen to fresh new music from some of Sarasota’s talented new performers, enjoy well prepared food with that Pan American flare and all while supporting a cause that will impact the lives of young Americans with disabilities.
For those of us that want to pay it forward but struggling with a way to contribute, this is the event you want to attend. Just showing up will give you the peace of mind that you are supporting a foundation that means something special to our community and aid the children and young adults that need your help to make it through every day.
Since its inception, Walter has been involved with The Center for Discovery (The Center), a national specialty facility that provides advanced care and treatment to children and adults with significant disabilities, medical complexities and autism spectrum disorders. Specifically, Walter has provided support through its scholarship/retention program for residents and their families as well as a scholarship offering financial assistance to staff members looking to pursue an advanced degree or continuing professional or education certification.
