Recently added to the Bolshoi’s repertoire in November 2013, this rarely performed “swashbuckling” ballet now revisits the stage of the famed theatre along with a worldwide cinema broadcast. Recreated specifically for the Bolshoi by French choreographer Pierre Lacotte, “Marco Spada” is a grandiose and unique ballet both on a technical and dramatic level: complex choreography, speed and intricacy of steps, five leading roles, the presence of animals on stage…With its scenes of pantomime, devilish intrigue, rejected suitors, and lovers misunderstandings, “Marco Spada” is a fresh and joyful ballet with an excellent cast not to be missed!
