BOARD CERTIFIED REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY THOMAS B. LUZIER JOINS AS PARTNER WITH WILLIAMS PARKER

SARASOTA, Fla. – Williams Parker is pleased to announce board certified real estate attorney Thomas B. Luzier has joined the firm as a partner. Mr. Luzier, previously a shareholder with Dunlap & Moran P.A., has more than two decades of experience handling residential and commercial real estate transactions. Alexis Thomas and Stephanie Brannan, real estate paralegals who have worked closely with Mr. Luzier for many years, have also joined the firm.

Mr. Luzier’s practice covers a wide variety of transactional matters, representing individuals and businesses in all phases of buying, financing, selling, and leasing residential and commercial property. He has successfully closed more than $1 billion in transactions to date.

“I have known Tom personally and professionally for many years, and we are very excited to welcome him and his team to the firm,” said Ric Gregoria, president of Williams Parker. “This is precisely the caliber of team we look to bring into Williams Parker. They bring a wealth of experience and will bolster our robust real estate practice. We look forward to having them on board and to our firm’s continued growth.”

“I have long respected the attorneys and work of Williams Parker,” said Mr. Luzier. “Alexis, Stephanie, and I are delighted to join their accomplished group and to continue helping buyers and sellers navigate the closing process.”

In 2015, Mr. Luzier was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to serve on the Florida Real Estate Commission, which administers and enforces Florida’s real estate license law. He currently serves as chair of the FREC. Mr. Luzier’s other civic affiliations have included membership on the Board of Directors of the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art Foundation, for which he chaired the audit and governance committees, as well as the Board of Trustees of the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, where he was a past board chair. Mr. Luzier is a graduate of Leadership Florida, and among numerous other civic involvements has served as the Chair of the City of Sarasota’s Historic Preservation Board, counsel to the Board of Directors of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Sarasota County Tourist Development Council, and on the Super Bowl XLIII Host Committee Board of Directors.

Mr. Luzier obtained his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and his B.A. from Emory University.

Including the addition of Mr. Luzier, Williams Parker’s real estate practice, led by partner Peter T. Currin, comprises 15 attorneys, nine of whom are board certified as specialists in real estate or condominium and planned development law, and 14 real estate paralegals and legal assistants. From straightforward residential real estate closings to complex commercial transactions, the group has provided counsel on a full range of real estate-related issues, including financing, taxation, land use, planned developments, condominiums, and contracting, to real estate professionals, developers, and investors since its founding in 1925. The firm also assists new residents in establishing residency and transitioning estates to take advantage of Florida’s favorable tax climate and asset protection laws.

Williams Parker’s impact on the real estate community and the evolution of Sarasota dates back to its founding partners and includes the development of many local residential communities, including The Meadows, The Landings, The Plantation Golf and Country Club, Palm Aire, Colonial Oaks, Pelican Cove, Bird Bay, and much of Longboat Key and Bay Isles.

Since celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2015, Williams Parker has experienced a nearly 25 percent increase in growth in its number of attorneys, bringing its total to 52. The growth includes the addition of local attorneys Dr. Steven Brownlee and Daniel T. Tullidge, the 2016 acquisition of several attorneys from the boutique labor and employment law firm formerly known as Kunkel, Miller & Hament, the addition of several attorneys from firms outside of the region, and the addition of multiple associates through the firm’s summer associate program, which recruits law school students from across the country.

In addition to real estate matters, the firm has significant experience in the areas of estate and tax planning, estate administration, business succession, foreign investments, corporate law, labor and employment, and healthcare.
