“GET ON UP” NATIONAL TOUR LAUNCHES
SEPTEMBER 30 IN BOISE

Tonight, Friday, September 25
, Boulder, CObased group BIG GIGANTIC will take the stage at the first of two sold-out nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.  It’s been a long road for saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken to “ROWDYTOWN IV,” the fourth installment of their massive hometown experienceTheir journey is beautifully captured in Dream Big: A Big Gigantic Story, the short documentary film which chronicles the duo’s history and how they broke saxophone into dance music alongside a compellingbehind the scenes look at producing last year’s Rowdytown show.
Wrote Matt Medved of Billboard (9/24/15), “The Boulder live/electronic outfit–comprised of saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken–is a rollicking, funk-fueled roller coaster in concert, careening through blistering sax breakdowns and snarling synth bass drops while commanding the fervent fandom usually reserved for jam bands.  Big Gigantic’s scene-straddling balancing act has elevated them to a rare sort of festival staple–equally at home playing ‘heads-only’ outings like Electric Forest, Shambhala, and Camp Bisco as mainstream festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Ultra Music Festival.  They also remain hometown heroes in Colorado, where their annual Rowdytown concert series at the hallowed Red Rocks Amphitheatre-set to kick off this weekend from Sept. 25-26 – has sold out every year since its 2012 debut. The event features prominently in their new documentary, Dream Big: A Big Gigantic Story…” View it now here: https://youtu.be/jWYSPE7JO-8

About BIG GIGANTIC:
Formed in 2008, saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli (classically trained with a master’s degree in jazz from the Manhattan School of Music) and drummer Jeremy Salken interpret traditional DJ-based music with live instruments and have successfully created an innovative, distinct sound that’s all their own. Their transcendent live shows are a showcase of brilliant improvisation and a tightly-knit bond between Salken and Lalli, who breathlessly alternates between keys, sax and laptop, building a futuristic wall of sound that keeps the crowd on its feet. The Boulder, CO-based duo leaves no genre off-limits as they channel everything from funk and dubstep to house and hip-hop. Their latest album, THE NIGHT IS YOUNG, was released in February 2014 as a free download on their website www.biggigantic.net, and has already logged 700,000 downloads to date.  The album marks the fifth album for the duo following Fire It Up (2009), Wide Awake (2009), A Place Behind The Moon (2010) and 2012’s Nocturnal (which has received more than one million downloads to date). BIG GIGANTIC have spent the last few years on various sold-out headlining tours across the country and received rave reviews from their many festival appearances that have included Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, Hangout, Austin City Limits, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest and Outside Lands among many others. In 2014, the duo made their debut at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden performing with Bassnectar, and also that year teamed up with their good friend Skrillex to be a part of and act as Musical Director of his Bonnaroo Superjam, featuring the likes of Lauryn Hill, Mystikal, Robbie Krieger from The Doors, Damian Marley, Janelle Monae and many more for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Check out the performances along with behind-the-scenes footage here: http://uverse.com/bonnaroo.
