Venice Theatre announces auditions for next Stage II production |
Director Kathy Pingel seeking a variety of actors for Metamorphoses |
Venice, FL, Feb. 8, 2016 – Auditions for Venice Theatre’s Stage II production of Metamorphoses by Mary Zimmerman, will be held Sunday Feb. 21 and Monday Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Venice Theatre located at 140 W. Tampa Ave. in Venice. Zimmerman won the 2002 Tony Award for Best Director for her contemporary staging of Ovid’s Greek and Roman myths. Venice Theatre will be true to Zimmerman’s concept by setting the play in and around a large pool of water, while juxtaposing ancient and the contemporary styles. Director Kathy Pingle is seeking a variety of ages, types and genders for the following roles, broken down by scene. Actors may play more than one role. Please note that all roles are volunteer positions.
Actors will be asked to read a scene from the script. Perusals are available by calling Venice Theatre’s Administrative Office at 941-484-4033.
