The Attacca Quartet were asked to play an opening set at this Friay and Sunday’s sold-out Radio City Music Hall performances for Jeff Lynne’s ELO – the seminal English rock band that has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, amassed more than 20 Billboard Top 40 hits, and performed at last year’s GRAMMY awards with Ed Sheeran and John Mayer.
The Attacca said yes.
They will perform music by Haydn (they recently completed a six-year traversal of all 68 string quartets), John Adams (from their acclaimed album Fellow Traveler), and Michael Ippolito.
