on Saturday, November 22
Asolo Rep’s Family Day at South Pacific offers theatre-loving families an affordable way to see Rodgers and Hammerstein’s timeless musical. This special event will feature enriching pre- and post-show activities that reveal the magic behind the production. Families can purchase four tickets for $60; two members of the group must be age 18 or under. Additional youth tickets can be purchased for $12.
From 11:30am – 1pm, the entire community – all ages, and all abilities – is invited to participate in the “South Pacific Music Video.” Learn simple movement to this musical’s famous songs, and perform alongside neighbors, family, and friends! Tickets to South Pacific are not required to participate in this event.
From 1 to 2pm, explore the history and setting of South Pacific with interactive lobby stations. Families will also embark on a journey to South Pacific with a scavenger hunt. Asolo Rep’s pre-show presentation, “The Scoop,” will begin at 1pm, and is most appropriate for young teens and up. Refreshments will be available for purchase. A “Meet the Actors” conversation will follow the performance, with cast members answering questions from the audience. Tickets to South Pacific are required to participate in these events.
