COSTUME DESIGNER BRUNCH

Featuring the Guys and Dolls Costume Designer Brian C. Hemesath
BRIAN C. HEMESATH is pleased to be designing his first show at Asolo Rep. He designed the costumes for Broadway’s Honeymoon in Vegas. Brian is also a two-time Emmy® Award-winning designer at PBS’s Sesame Street. He spent 14 years at Saturday Night Live designing costumes for approximately 106 “digital shorts” with the Lonely Island Boys, as well as other pre-tapes including “Xanax for Gay Weddings.” He has designed multiple shows at Paper Mill Playhouse including Boeing, Boeing; Smokey Joe’s Café; Pump Boys and Dinettes; and High School Musical. Off Broadway shows include Disaster! and Unbroken Circle. Brian received his MFA from Carnegie Mellon University and was the 2015 recipient of the Irene Sharaff Young Master award.

Asolo Repertory Theatre’s Annual Gala 2017, La Fête de Monte Carlo, will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a seated dinner, paddle raise, live music and dancing. It will celebrate the luxurious Mediterranean destination, Monte Carlo, which became the epitome of jet-set chic in the 1960s and one of the most noteworthy James Bond film locations. Its glitz, glamour, fashion, royalty and yachts made it the place to be. Our musical entertainment will feature headliner Mark Zauss and his 11-piece orchestra, the 007 Band. Zauss delivers classic sounds from the 50s and 60s and entertains audiences with tributes to the esteemed British invasion music of John Barry and his Bond theme songs.
All Gala proceeds will support the artists in Asolo Rep’s 2016/17 season and our award-winning Education & Outreach programs, which help students develop an appreciation for the arts while gaining empathy and insight into the lives of others through experiencing, discussing and creating live theatre.
