New York, NY (June 28, 2019) – On Thursday, June 27, Artists Den, the critically acclaimed television and music series best known for presenting intimate concerts by extraordinary artists in non-traditional settings, hosted a special WorldPride NYC edition of the Live from the Artists Den series at a surprise venue with platinum-selling, multi-talented pop futurist Charli XCX.
Charli XCX: Live from the Artists Den WorldPride taped from The Rooftop at Pier 17, an award-winning venue in NYC’s Seaport District, and will air at a later date on American Public Television. The exclusive concert event, supported by TV partner Colgate and its Smile With Pride campaign, celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community and the importance of diversity and equal rights. This episode completes Artists Den’s 10th anniversary on American Public Television.
The event marked the first time that Charli XCX performed new music since the announcement of her upcoming third studio album titled “Charli.” Prior to performing, the British artist also participated in an intimate conversation with Rolling Stone’s Brittany Spanos.
Artists Den events are free and invitation-only. General Admission audience members were randomly selected through ticket sweepstakes, available exclusively via the Artists Den mailing list. Unlike other televised music series, Live from the Artists Den breaks away from the confines of a conventional studio set by unveiling new, unexpected venues for each concert, with the venue serving as the co-star alongside each featured artist. Audience members were surprised with the reveal of The Rooftop at Pier 17 as the venue one day prior to the event.
VIP influencers in attendance included Travis Wall, Edward Granger, RJ King, Moti Ankari, Tessa Barton, Christian Bendek, Matt Bernstein, Ty French, Pieter Henket, Roger Inniss, Justin Livingston, Taylor Phillips, Kale Teter, Lisa Marie Thalhammer and more.
