Today’s Tomorrows: What is Post-Modernism?

4-part Lecture Series with

Kevin Costello

Thursdays, April 17 – May 8, 2014

6-8pm

$8 members/ $10 non-members

Serious “high” art and popular “low-brow” art have conjoined in large part because of the melding of intellectual fashions with the entertainment and information industries. This 4-part series examines the shift of emphasis in contemporary advanced art and gives clarity to the larger cultural consequences of this new thinking.

Light Bulb Drive  – Still going on!

We need 30 more bulbs to make it happen

Light bulb

Art Center Sarasota is transitioning from halogen to LED in the galleries’ track lights.
LED bulbs have a more even light spread and intensity then halogens, providing better lighting for the artwork, and requires less bulbs to light the same amount of wall space. It only takes 3 LED bulbs to light the same amount of space that 5 halogen bulbs light.
