ARKELLS PREMIERES VIDEO FOR “MY HEART’S ALWAYS YOURS”

Arkells shared the video for their new single “My Heart’s Always Yours” on MTV Live and mtvU. The song is from their recently released and highly acclaimed album, Morning Report, out via Last Gang Records/eOne in the U.S. and Universal Music Canada. This is the third video the band has released from Morning Report, which included “Private School” and “Drake’s Dad.” The video features the band being observed in a collection of unique art installations. When coming up with a video concept for “My Heart’s Always Yours” the band decided to turn to Alyssa Pankiw of the interactive media production company, The Young Astronauts. Max said:
“Making a video for a romantic song is hard. If you’re not careful it’ll quickly turn in to the trailer for A Walk To Remember. We loved (director) Ally’s previous work, and when she pitched a treatment that was more abstract and less on the nose, we were immediately drawn to the idea. There’s a visceral experience about being in an art gallery that I really enjoy. A lot of great art doesn’t serve it right up to you – you have to patiently take it in and then unpack your feelings. That’s what the video offers – it gives me the feels without any trite nods to romantic nostalgia.”
Arkells’ tour supporting alternative rock band KONGOS kicks off today in Detroit at Saint Andrews Hall. The band will play through the East Coast before the KONGOS’ dates come to an end at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on Oct 18. The band will join Frank Turner for a handful of East Coast tour dates before Turner takes over the supporting roll for Arkells’ two SOLD OUT headlining shows at Massey Hall in Toronto.
