Amarillo Symphony Presents Dreamcatchers on October 17 & 18
Experience the Soul of the Spanish guitar with classical guitarist Pablo Sainz Villegas
AMARILLO, TEXAS – (October 6, 2014) – The Amarillo Symphony, (www.amarillosymphony.org), the leader of orchestral music in the Texas Panhandle since 1924, today announces Dreamcatchers concert with classical guitarist, Pablo Sainz Villegas. Known as “the soul of the Spanish guitar” Mr. Villegas will take the audience on a journey through emotional music.
One of the world leading guitarists, Pablo Sainz Villegas will perform with the Amarillo Symphony on October 17 & 18. The winner of the Gold Medal at the first Christopher Parkening International Guitar Competition will perform Rodrigo’s “Fantasia para un gentilhombre” with the orchestra. “His beautifully rounded guitar tone and soulful rendition makes him one of the most sought-after soloists by today’s foremost orchestras, conductors and festivals.” (The New York Times)
“Spanish guitarist, Pablo Sainz Villegas brings his special artistry to Rodrigo’s beautiful score, which in and of itself is torn between classical traditions, forms and contemporary melodies,” said Jacomo Rafael Bairos, Music Director and Conductor. “Rodrigo’s sumptuous, classically inspired concerto teems with beauty, pulse and intimacy. We are in for a musical menu that not only gives us unique orchestral highs of sound and color, yet also bring us close together through vivid and clear intimate moments. Enjoy the flavors and melodies of colors only our dreams can induce.”
Dreamcatchers will be held at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18 at 8:00 pm.
