WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Help us put on an original play to
raise awareness for eating disorders

What Is It?

Up All Night is a new theatre company running out of Wilmington, North Carolina. Our focus is on bringing original work to the stage, making theatre accessible for all people, and showcasing new Talent in and around Wilmington.

Our next production is an original piece by local playwright Bitsy Betsy. Entitled “Bare Bones”, the play examines and explores the mental and emotional state of a young woman as she goes through an eating disorder. As she experiences this, we get to see how it affects not only her, but also the people around her. The reactions that she receives from her friends and family run the gamut from fear and disbelief to concern and love. Each character is not only real in their own right, but also parallels many of the common (sometimes misguided) thoughts and opinions that we as a society have about eating disorders.

With this production, we hope to not only create an excellent piece of theatre, but also to raise awareness for eating disorders and the effect that they have on the people afflicted with them, as well as those that they love.

What We Need

We are asking for $600 to help fund the production of this play. The money will go toward things like:

  • Costumes
  • Set building
  • Advertising space
  • Programs, flyers, etc.

We want to keep our ticket prices low to make this show as accessible to people as possible and raise awareness for eating disorders. By donating, you are helping to make that happen. Once the production is complete, all money left over from this campaign will be donated to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), a nationwide non-profit that aims to “confront these serious illnesses with increased awareness, early intervention and improved access to treatment. NEDA provides programs and services to give families the support they need to find answers for these life-threatening illnesses.”
