AGAINST ME! RELEASE NEW STEAK MTN.-DIRECTED MUSIC VIDEO FOR “TRUE TRANS SOUL REBEL” OFF FORTHCOMING LIVE ALBUM

Celebrated rock band Against Me!, Total Treble and INgrooves Music Group are pleased to present the brand new Steak Mtn.-directed music video for “True Trans Soul Rebel.” Featuring the moody, signature black & white animation of the esteemed artist, the video for “True Trans Soul Rebel” is the first visual to be released from the band’s forthcoming live collection titled 23 Live Sex Acts. Recorded over Against Me!’s year-long, 2014 world tour and helmed by Marc Jacob Hudson (Taking Back Sunday, Saves The Day, Worriers), the album is an immersive compilation of songs that span the band’s entire catalog and provides the most comprehensive look into the powerful Against Me! live experience. The album, which will be available in stores and online on Friday, September 4, also marks Against Me! and Total Treble’s exciting new partnership with independent music distribution and marketing leader INgrooves. Against Me! have also announced a number of upcoming North American dates for September. Beginning on Friday, September 4 at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ, the band will headline the Brooklyn Vegan-curated Red Bull Sound Select showcase that will also feature Cakes Da Killa and Big Eyes. Additionally, the band will be making a handful of appearances on the west coast of the U.S. later in the month, including Wednesday, September 23 in Sacramento, CA, Thursday, September 24 in San Francisco, CA, Friday, September 25 in Santa Ana, CA, Saturday, September 26 in Mesa, AZ and Sunday, September 27 at Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful Festival. True Trans With Laura Jane Grace, the 10-episode docu-series produced by AOL Studios in association with Reza & Company Productions, was also recently nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy® Award in the New Approaches: Arts, Lifestyle, Culture category. The groundbreaking series tells the story of Grace, the cultural icon and frontwoman of Against Me! who came out as transgender in 2012, and also provides an up-close-and-personal look into her remarkable journey as well as other transgender individuals across the country. 2014 was a pivotal year for the four members of Against Me!, a year that included world touring and the release of its widely acclaimed sixth full-length album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues, that landed on countless year-end lists. It was also an especially successful year for frontwoman Laura Jane Grace who continued work on her highly-anticipated memoir and performed a number solo shows around the country that included storytelling and spoken word. Grace also served as Music Director for MTV‘s Rebel Music, a series of documentary films about youth, music and global social change, focused on youth protest movements in the most challenging and turbulent parts of the world. Currently she is a contributing writer to Noisey where she writes an advice column titled Mandatory Happiness and, alongside the legendary Joan Jett, recently loaned her support for Miley Cyrus‘ “Happy Hippie Foundation,” a non-profit whose mission is to rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations.

With the upcoming release of 23 Live Sex Acts, Against Me! will remain one of the hardest working bands in music as they continue to tour and deliver empowering commentary through its passionate punk that’s been revered for over 15 years.
