Los Angeles, CA (December 11, 2015) – Adam Zwig’s new seventh album, Adam Zwig: Live at the Wiltern Theatre (Conscious Records), released today, December 11 and is available for purchase via iTunes HERE. The singer-songwriter—whose music encompasses a range of styles, from folk and country to rock and blues—partnered with Billboard earlier this week to exclusively premiere the live album where it could be streamed in its entirety. Additionally, Billboard chatted with Zwig about the new record and his life as both a musician and a psychotherapist. Stream the new album and read the interview HERE.
“I loved playing at the Wiltern Theatre,” Zwig explained. “The vibe was fantastic and the sound was great. Those old theaters are magical!”
The 11-track LP, recorded live at the prestigious Art Deco theatre in Los Angeles, brings Zwig’s artful amalgam of folk, indie, roots, and rock to life like never before. Zwig and his band deliver one entire uncut performance to assemble the album and the undeniable connection between him and the crowd can be heard on every song. Grammy Award-winning engineer David Bianco (U2, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash) preserved the ambience of the venue, allowing the audience a voice in the process. Additionally, Neal Casal, known for his work with Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Ryan Adams & the Cardinals, guests on the album, laying backing vox on select tracks.
“Something happened that night at the Wiltern,” said Bianco. “Adam and the band really hit their stride. Everyone played out of their minds! It was magic!”
July 30 saw the release of the album’s lead single “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues” which, following Zwig’s numerous Top Ten AC Radio hits throughout his career, reached No. 9 on the AC Top 200 chart. Elmore Magazine premiered the track and raved, “…great single choice to demonstrate his incomparable connection with the audience.” Key songs from the album also premiered on The Bluegrass Situation, Monsters and Critics as well as Glide Magazine who noted, “Zwig may be known as a ‘contemporary’ artist, but his new live album reveals something far more dynamic.”
