The smash hit revival of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men joined Broadway’s millionaires club and shattered the house record at the Longacre Theatre, for the third time, the final week of its limited 19 week engagement.  The show starring Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O’Dowd, Leighton Meester andTony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton grossed $1,038,106.30 for the week ending July 27 breaking its previous record of $929,888 the week ending July 20.  This is the first time the Longacre Theatre has had a show with a $1 million gross. Directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, Of Mice and Men was the first “hit” of the spring, recouping its $3.8 million capitalization in only twelve weeks.  The critically acclaimed production opened on Wednesday, April 16, and played its final performance Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre (220 West 48 Street).

This landmark production of Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men will have an extended life as the first American production chosen to be filmed by the prestigious National Theatre Live.  The international broadcast will be filmed at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48 Street) and distributed by National Theatre Live.  Screening dates for Of Mice and Men will be announced shortly.

Of Mice and Men features Ron Cephas Jones, Alex Morf, Joel Marsh Garland, James McMenamin, Jim Ortlieb, Jim Parrack, Michael Dempsey, Kevin Jackson, Erica Lutz and Stephen Payne.

The creative team for Of Mice and Menincludes scenic design by Tony Award winner Todd Rosenthal,costume design by the international Emmy Award winner Suttirat Larlarb, lighting design by 2014 Tony Award nominee Japhy Weideman and sound design by Rob Milburn & Michael Bodeen.
