Atlanta native Sporty-O is easily one of the most multi-faceted and active artists in EDM today. With a background in TV and Film, solid and consistent output at all levels of music production and distribution, from record store owner to label founder, he’s developed a level of expectation that exceeds that of the typical musician.
He recorded his debut hip hop album ‘From The Mouth of Sporty’ in 2000, immediately following up with a string of well-received mixtapes. Continually honing his craft while enjoying a successful 5 year run as an independent record store owner in Decatur, Ga, Sporty-O jumped at the opportunity to star in the MTV show ‘Jamie Kennedy’s Blowin’ Up’. This experience led to appearances in Hollywood films ‘National Lampoon’s Van Wilder 3’, ‘Road Trip 2’ and ‘The Preacher’s Kid’.
But it wasn’t until one fateful day in 2007, that Sporty’s longtime friend DJ LETHAL (of House Of Pain and Limp Bizkit fame) introduced Sporty to the legendary breakbeat artists, Aquasky, that Sporty’s life changed forever. Together they recorded the chart topping “Outta Control” track, and Sporty was forever bitten by the EDM bug ever since. He then released his ‘_International Wingman_’ LP on Keith MacKenzie’s Chicago-based Illeven:Eleven imprint, featuring well-received originals and remixes spanning the dance music spectrum.
Now turning heads in the dance scene, Sporty-O, the self-proclaimed “international businessman”, soon enough found himself working with global dance scene mainstays like Deekline, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors, Peace Treaty, Felguk, and Gigi Barocco.
In 2010 Sporty’s collaboration with Brazilian House Sensation, Felguk, titled “2nite” became the theme song for Electric Daisy Carnival’s last year in Los Angeles before it’s move to Las Vegas.
