Suncoast Humane Society: Join Us For Clear The Shelters Starting August 1st!

We will be one of those participating organizations and we need your help. Will you join us? By joining the #ClearTheShelters movement, you’re proving that compassion, especially during these uncertain times, can make a world of difference in the lives of homeless pets.

Here is how you can help:

1. Adopt. Your new best friend is waiting for you right now! Adopting a shelter pet will change their life AND yours. Our adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call us at 941-474-7884 to schedule an appointment. Adoption fee specials for August 2020: $75 for kittens and puppies (less than 1 year old), $50 for adult cats and dogs (over 1 year old), $25 for any animal who’s been with us longer than 6 months. Adoption fee does not include rabies vaccination fee and county licence tag fee. Learn more about our adoption process here.
2. Give. Go to www.humane.org and donate. From August 1-August 31, $400,000 in matching funds will be made available, starting with $100,000 from August 1-8. You can also support our organization by shopping for items on our Wish List or by volunteering your time.
3. Follow. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and invite your friends to do the same.
4. Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating real impact on August 1st, by sharing what our mission means to you and why you support our organization through your social media. Make sure to use hashtag #ClearTheShelters.

We are looking for the stars of the 2021 Pet Calendar! That’s right, we are back again to showcase YOUR fur babies this year. All entered pets will be included, but YOUR pet could be the face of the front or back cover, or win the Pet of the Month honor!

Suncoast Humane Society’s Pet Calendar fundraiser helps raise the vital funds needed to help connect pets with their families and to continue the programs and services which serve our community. Please visit our website for the official rules.

Again, we thank you for understanding, as it is Suncoast Humane Society’s top priority to protect our community and create a safe environment for our event. We will practice social distancing, hand sanitizing, and face masks as needed. Breakfast and lunch are included, with all safety measures in place.

There are many animals at Suncoast Humane Society right now who need loving volunteers to foster them for a variety of reasons such as: shy animals who need socialization, nursing cat moms & kittens, animals recovering from a medical procedure or going through treatment, and every animal who’d much rather wait for their forever family in a loving home than at the shelter.

If you have the desire to foster, and room in your home and heart, we will provide you with education, direction, food, and medical and behavioral assistance. So, let’s get started!
