Reignwolf shares new song “Cabin Fever,” out today. The track was recorded entirely in his garage. In classic Reignwolf Thrash N Dash style, the new track was created with a sense of urgency. Holed up in his home he was forced to trade in the safety and comfort of the studio for his 4-track recorder and one microphone. Reignwolf was originally booked to play Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium this Saturday, May 2.
The song was first shared in the form of an angsty black and white video shot and where he’s seen drumming, playing guitar and singing. Now, it’s streaming everywhere.
Jordan Cook explains the track further, saying:
“The song came together quickly and I didn’t want to wait to record it so I used what was available. I dusted off the 4-track, set up a single mic in the garage and went to work. It felt like old times when I used to record in my bedroom before I’d ever gone into a studio. It has this vibe that made it different from anything I’d ever done. There’s a lot of tension out there and that’s baked right into the song. We’re living in the unknown right now. I don’t know when we’ll hit the road again, but here’s a little something for our friends with cabin fever.”
Billboard, who premiered the video, says “Reignwolf’s New Song ‘Cabin Fever’ Is the Quarantine Anthem of the Isolation Era,” adding that it’s “a frenzied ode to the confined socially isolated mind.”
While Reignwolf is currently scheduled to play BottleRock Napa Valley, which was recently rescheduled from May to October, there’s no telling what the future of live music holds but Cook is ready to return when the opportunity arises. Upon the announcement of the festival lineup, Mercury News said of the band, “Don’t just take my word that this rock act is worth seeing in concert. The group has been endorsed by the Pixies, The Who and — the heaviest of the heavy — Black Sabbath, all of which have toured with Reignwolf.”
Last year was a big one for Reignwolf. Their debut album, Hear Me Out, was released and they embarked on a completely sold-out tour across the US and Canada before supporting Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famers The Who and rap pioneers Wu-Tang Clan. Appearances at such high profile festivals as Bunbury, Osheaga, Music Midtown, and Bumbershoot rounded out the North American schedule before heading across the pond and selling out shows throughout Europe. |
