RICHARDSON CHAMBER PLAYERS PRESENT

FROM BUENOS AIRES TO BROOKLYN

The Richardson Chamber Players, Princeton University Concerts’ resident ensemble of performance faculty, distinguished guest artists and supremely talented students, offer a Sunday afternoon concert of mixed chamber works on November 11, 2018 at 3PM in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall. In tribute to Princeton University Concerts’ Artist-in-Residence Gustavo Dudamel, the program, “From Buenos Aires to Brooklyn,” invites listeners on a musical journey across the Americas —sampling works by Carlos Guastavino, Daniel Binelli, and Astor Piazzolla (Argentina), Heitor Villa-Lobos (Brazil), Leo Brouwer (Cuba), Agustín Barrios (Paraguay)—heading north in a work by Carlos Chávez (Mexico), and finally landing in the Northeast through some classics by George Gershwin (USA). The concert presents a diverse combination of instruments, including guitar, bandoneon, violin, double bass, piano, viola, cello, flute, harp, clarinet, and mezzo-soprano. Performers include Princeton University Performance Faculty Barbara Rearick, Ronald Cappon, Nancy Wilson, Jessica Thompson, Laura Oltman, Michael Newman, Jack Hill, Jo-Ann Sternberg, Alberto Parrini, and Elaine Christy; guest artists Daniel Binelli and Ariana Cappon; and current students Haeun Jung and Nicholas Ioffreda.

Tickets are $15 General/$5 Students, available online at princetonuniversityconcerts.org, by phone at 609-258-9220, or in person two hours prior to the concert at Richardson Auditorium.
