Visit Sarasota County works with Ringling College of Art + Design student for a child-friendly coloring and activity book
SARASOTA, Fla. (August 22, 2018) – Visit Sarasota County worked with Brittany Starbuck, a recent graduate of Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida to create a Sarasota-themed child-friendly coloring and activity book.
The 22-page coloring and activity book features illustrations of landmarks such as the Ca’ d’Zan mansion, the Ringling bridge, and the Sailor Statue along with locations such as the Myakka River State Park, the BMX racing track and the Venice Fishing Pier. Mazes and learn-to-draw activities along with fun facts about area attractions, flora and animals are also included.
“With a world-class illustration institution in Sarasota, it was a natural fit to work with Ringling College of Art + Design to produce the coloring and activity book,” says Erin Duggan, VP of Visit Sarasota County. “We like to educate all of our visitors about what there is to experience throughout Sarasota. We have guides and brochures for adults and the coloring books allow us to educate children on their level.”
Starbuck is recent graduate from Ringling with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration with honors.
“It was a fun and engaging project,” says Starbuck. “I definitely learned more about the Sarasota community and it was fun to interpret it in a manner that would appeal to children.”
The coloring and activity book is free and offered at our Official Visitor Information Center located at 1945 Fruitville Road. Limited quantities are available.
