Local public relations association to present annual Media Breakfast
The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association event features a broadcast media panel discussion and roundtable sessions with editors from regional print publications
SARASOTA, FL – The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) is hosting its annual Media Breakfast on November 15, 8-11 a.m., at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County (2635 Fruitville Road, Sarasota).
The program will begin with a panel discussion featuring area broadcast media representatives, who will discuss the ways local news outlets are reinventing themselves across multiple platforms, from traditional TV shows to social content, live streaming, and digital-only channels. Following the panel discussion, a series of rotating roundtables will give attendees the opportunity to speak with eight to 10 media representatives from a variety of media formats, who will offer their expertise and advice for story pitching and developing authentic relationships with the media.
“Each year, the FPRA Media Breakfast offers attendees crucial networking opportunities with regional media representatives,” says Tara Poulton, president of CWC-FPRA. “Public relations and communications professionals, nonprofit groups and other interested individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this rare opportunity to meet local news representatives in person and discover new ways to effectively communicate with the media.”
Tickets for the program, which is being sponsored by Habitat for Humanity Sarasota, Inc., are $45/FPRA members, $55/guests. Tickets include breakfast; additionally, attendees will receive a 2017-2018 media directory, which includes contact information and preferences of area assignment editors, reporters, freelance writers and other members of the media.
