[October 6, 2017 – New York, NY] Singer/Songwriter/Producer, Jordan Bratton releases today a new track and accompanying video for “Spaces” from his forthcoming mixtape, Driver’s Ed due out this fall via Rebirth Entertainment/1009 Records/RCA Records. Click here to watch.
The “Spaces” video, directed by Ben Elias and James Dayton and shot in Brooklyn, is emotive and cinematic, bringing to life Jordan’s storytelling.
Jordan says of “Spaces:” “Deep down I never felt like I was good enough for anybody really. Always had many unrequited love issues that took over my outcomes with companionship. When I was listening back to the reference, I remember thinking how oblivious I was to the signs of my heart slipping into a coma. I wasn’t aware of the fact that it was affecting me in the worst way. There is something special about this video because it isn’t very theatrical, but it still has a theme of resolution. It’s one of the most heartfelt things I’ve seen in a while and I’m not just saying that because I’m a part of it.”
On creating the vision and directing the video Ben Elias shares: “We tuned more into the track’s airy, spiritual quality, and decided that we wanted to do something more abstract. We channeled that feeling into the character of the young boy, who holds this age-old wisdom, rather than childlike innocence, as he drifts between different places and times. Hopefully we did justice to such a heartfelt song. Cheers to Jordan and the team for giving us so much freedom with the concept.”
“Spaces,” both written and produced by Jordan, is the third offering from his forthcoming Driver’s Ed mixtape, following the releases of “Pieces” and “Sunsets.”
Variance Magazine describes “Pieces” as “addictive,” while This Is RnB calls “Sunsets,” “a reflective…smooth track…” and Fashionably Early proclaims “[with] gorgeous vocals and a soulful backdrop…[Bratton is] one of the brightest R&B singers that is bound to take off.”
About Jordan Bratton:
Hailing from Long Island, NY, the 22-year-old received his first taste of the spotlight while in kindergarten performing a solo at Lincoln Center. He would later go on to become a trained musician, learning to play the drums, piano, bass, guitar and even the clarinet. Throughout his early teens, Bratton performed live with his father’s band before meeting producer K-Mack. Eventually, with the help of K-Mack’s Rebirth Entertainment, Jordan would create the sound that became his first mixtape, The Grey Area, released in 2013.
In 2015, Bratton followed up with his critically acclaimed YOUTH EP, marking his first major label release. The EP received praise from outlets including Pigeons and Planes, Billboard, FADER, VIBE, HYPBEAST and Entertainment Weekly who included Jordan on their “The Next Generation of Teen Idols” list, describing him as a “New York wunderkind with a bright, melodic take on R&B…”
With the release of his forthcoming Driver’s Ed mixtape, the young musician is fortifying the groundwork to be music’s next breakout star in 2017.
