This one-night-only fully improvised Halloween special of funny and fright runs in Bowne’s Lab on October 20 and 27 at 7:30pm. Out of Bounds runs in Bowne’s Lab through December 23. Join the FST improv cast as they go Out of Bounds into the world of unpredictable comedy. Two teams take the stage in Bowne’s Lab to duke it out for the most laughs. Taking audience suggestions, the FST Improv actors will twist and turn them into something hilarious. Who will win the duel of fools? You get to decide as they battle it out. “As the weather takes a turn to the crisp upper 80s, we’re going to kick off Fall by bringing back one of our classic shows Out of Bounds,” says Will Luera, FST’s Director of Improv. “What better way to celebrate the return of football and the beginning of post-season baseball than by bringing the spirit of competition to the Improv Stage? In this classic competition show, two teams of improvisers take on each other for the audience’s points. Scenes are picked from our infamous bucket, the audience assigns points, and the team with the most points at the end of the night is the winner!”
Fall also means that Halloween is approaching, bringing with it tricks, treats, and scary movies. In a world where blockbusters come and go, FST Improv entertains with unforgettable, original, and fully improvised motion picture. This October, the cast of We’re Doomed will perform an improvised horror movie based on a title provided by the audience. We’ll leave the fancy equipment behind as we use unique staging, special effects, and onstage acrobatics to recreate the excitement and magic of the silver screen. Audiences will even get to see improvised previews of upcoming attractions. “We promise we won’t give you nightmares, but we can’t promise there won’t be clowns!” says Luera.
Back for another season of witty weekend hilarity are returning cast members: Will Luera, Christine Alexander, Jason Cannon, Andrew Deeb, Michael Fraser, Chris Friday, Patrick A. Jackson, Joey James, Darryl Knapp, Emily Levin, Sal Piccolo, Kihresha Redmond, and Natasha Samreny.
FST Improv performances of the classic game show, Out of Bounds, begin on October 7 and run through December 23, 2017, with We’re Doomed taking over on October 20 and 27. About Florida Studio Theatre
Known as Sarasota’s Contemporary Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre was founded in 1973 by Artist Jon Spelman. Starting out as a small touring company, FST traveled to places such as migrant camps and prisons.
