LOS ANGELES – August 24, 2017 – Music’s biggest names take the stage to raise funds and awareness for America’s family farmers, as AXS TV presents a special live broadcast of FARM AID 2017 on Saturday, September 16, starting at 7pE. The night marks the fourth consecutive year that the network will air Farm Aid, and the second time that the festival will air live on AXS TV.
Filmed live at the KeyBank Pavilion in Pennsylvania—a noted hub of family farm agriculture—FARM AID 2017 boasts an eclectic roster of all-star talent, headlined by Farm Aid founder and country music icon Willie Nelson. Other notable performers include rock n’ roll mainstay Neil Young; roots rock favorite John Mellencamp; rock jam band hero Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds; acoustic surf star Jack Johnson; and genre-blending songstress Sheryl Crow; as well as The Avett Brothers, Blackberry Smoke, Lukas Nelson & The Promise Of The Real, and Insects vs. Robots.
Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on the land during the 1980s Farm Crisis. Now in its 32nd year, Farm Aid has raised more than $50 million, becoming a food and farm festival that features HOMEGROWN food from family farmers and hands-on agrarian activities, and attracts some of the most influential artists in music, who donate their performances to support and honor family farmers. Nelson is joined on the organization’s board by fellow music legends Young, Mellencamp, and Matthews.

During the broadcast, viewers will be invited to donate to Farm Aid and receive a signature T-shirt.
