After performing to a sold-out crowd at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, Debbie Harry, Blondie, and friends celebrated all things Pollinator at NeueHouse Hollywood Monday night. The ‘Pollinator Party’ marked the release of Blondie’s acclaimed new album and continued to champion their BEE Connected campaign, raising awareness of the decline in the bee population. Renowned DJ Miss Guy provided music for the event alongside an exhibition of some of Chris Stein‘s iconic photography. Also available for attendees was a special, bee-inspired cocktail, provided by NeueHouse. The drink, aptly named ‘The Pollinator,’ made use of honey, lemon, and crimson plums, all of which heavily rely on pollinators for survival, while also incorporating bee-friendly plants such as lavender, sage, and mint.
In addition to Lisa Edelstein, Tatum O’Neal, Shepard Fairey, Paul Zone, Rain Phoenix, Randy Jackson, and more, the intimate event was attended by Blondie’s BEE Connected charity partners. The Pollinator PartnershipGreenpeace, Friends of the Earth, and Los Angeles’ own Honey Love were all present, showing their dedication to conserving and improving the health of bees and other pollinators, an important issue as bees serve a critical function in our food chain and ecosystems. PRESS HERE to find out more about Blondie’s BEE Connected campaign.
About Blondie:
Blondie recently released their remarkable 11th studio album Pollinator via BMG, which received much acclaim for its dynamic blend of Blondie‘s trailblazing sound and new influences from some of modern music’s greatest innovators including Sia, Dev Hynes, Charli XCX, Dave Sitek, Joan Jett, Nick Valensi, Johnny Marr, Adam Johnston, The Gregory Brothers & John Roberts. Pollinator is Blondie’s most collaborative album to date and aptly titled for this eclectic group of songwriters that “pollinated” the new album with the very influences that Blondie imparted to them. Pollinator features the euphoric disco-infused single “Fun” as well as the propulsive 80s-esque anthem “Long Time“. Blondie will embark on a North American co-headlining tour with Garbage this July.
