LEGOLAND® Florida Resort Donates Interactive ‘Imagination Station’ at Brevard County’s Patrick Air Force Base
Whimsical LEGO Decor Lets Kids Play While Service Member Parents Shop for Discounted Tickets to Popular Attractions
PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (May 26, 2017) — Imagination takes flight in an interactive play area designed by LEGOLAND® Florida Resort for the children of Patrick Air Force Base personnel, a whimsical space created in partnership between the Polk County vacation destination and the U.S. military facility.
Debuting June 1, the new “Imagination Station” gives kids a fun, engaging place to play while parents visit the base’s Information, Tickets & Travel (ITT) office, part of the military’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation services for enlisted men and women and their families. LEGOLAND Model Citizens worked with the base to transform a formerly plain space into a colorful celebration of play and creativity, donating all labor and materials.
Decor includes floor-to-ceiling LEGOLAND graphics and photos, wall-mounted LEGO® baseplates and bins with thousands of loose LEGO bricks so kids can build and display whatever they imagine. Also featured is a LEGO replica of the Winter Haven, Fla. theme park’s iconic entrance arch, designed and assembled by Master Model Builders.
Home of the 45th Space Wing, the veteran Air Force installation near Florida’s Cocoa Beach hosts more than 13,000 military, dependents, civilian employees and contractors on base. The Information, Tickets & Travel office assists service members with leisure travel arrangements and discounted tickets to popular Central Florida attractions, including LEGOLAND Florida Resort.
