The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) is hosting “The Emotion of PRomotion from Creativity to Crisis,” Thursday, June 15, 8-11:30 a.m., at FCCI Insurance, 6300 University Parkway in Sarasota. In today’s global economy, effective communication skills are more essential than ever before. During this event, experts will discuss communication survival skills for today’s media’s landscape, including creating a clear and consistent message in a crisis, successful rebranding strategies, social media tools for public relations professionals, and how to tell effective stories with video.
Kristi Hoskinson, personal and professional development consultant for FCCI Insurance Group, will start the event with a talk entitled “Coherent Communication in a Crisis.” Participants can then choose two of the following three workshops:
“How to Create Social Media Content for Media Representatives,” with Brian Ries, digital editor for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune; “How to Break the Rules of Video Storytelling” with Lucas Colavecchio, owner and executive producer of HuB Studios; and “The Essential Elements of a Successful Rebranding Campaign” with Erin Duggan, vice president of Visit Sarasota. After the workshops, Simi Chaddha Ranajee, PhD, MBA, Access Communications, will share her insights about the crisis communication plan she implemented after the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando.
