HOWLING BELLS RELEASE NEW ALBUM HEARTSTRINGS TODAY + PREMIERE VIDEO FOR “YOUR LOVE” VIA PASTE
London-based four-piece Howling Bells release their stunning new album Heartstrings today via Birthday Records. In celebration of the record’s release, the band also shares the second single off of the LP, entitled “Your Love.” To accompany the gorgeous song is an equally gorgeous music video, directed by Giogio Testi (The Rolling Stones, The Killers, Savages, The Kill, etc.) PRESS HERE to watch the video and listen to “Your Love” now via Paste.
“The inspiration for the ‘Your Love’ video was dreamt up by the band and Giorgio Testi,” Howling Bells frontwoman Juanita Stein told Paste. “An atmospheric and euphoric mood was created using slow motion and flood lighting. A joy to have made!”
Bohemian rock’n’roll is the essence of what you will hear on Heartstrings, Howling Bells’ incredible new album. The quartet, which originated in Sydney, recorded and produced the record in London with Catherine J. Marks (Foals, PJ Harvey) and the legendary Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, The Killers, Depeche Mode). The band laid down one track per day for 11 days, and the result is an album that spans the piano-led chamber pop of “Paper Heart,” the MBV-go-Spector fuzz-tune landscapes of “Your Love” – and overall, positions front woman Juanita Stein’s honeyed vocals in “a really stark, cold dark place.”
Howling Bells are Juanita Stein (Vocals, Guitar), Joel Stein (Guitar), Glenn Moule (Drums) and Gary Daines (Bass).
