Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe from Beijing performs at the Auditorium Theatre on Saturday, February 4, in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The 11 members of the Long Yun Troupe, hand-picked by internationally renowned martial artist, actor, and film director Jackie Chan, effortlessly meld elements of kung fu and traditional Chinese dance to create an entirely new art form, showcased throughout the program 11 Warriors. Co-presented with the Chinese Fine Arts Society and Choose Chicago, the Long Yun Troupe is a signature event in the City of Chicago’s annual Chinese New Year Celebration and promises an unforgettable evening that is perfect for the whole family.

“We are so excited to bring Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe to Chicago for only their third-ever appearance in the United States,” says Auditorium Theatre CEO Tania Castroverde Moskalenko. “We look forward to commemorating Chinese New Year with the incredible Chicago Chinese community during this celebratory week.”

Choose Chicago and the China International Cultural Association, under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in early 2016, strengthening cultural ties between Chicago and China. The Long Yun Troupe first came to Chicago in early 2016 under the MOU.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Auditorium Theatre to bring Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe back to Chicago,” says Julie Ma, President of the Chinese Fine Arts Society. “This engagement will give thousands of audience members a chance to see the astonishing combination of agility, strength, grace, and poignant storytelling at the magnificent Auditorium Theatre.”

“It is an honor and a pleasure to have Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe return to Chicago for the second year in a row as part of our city’s Chinese New Year celebration,” says David Whitaker, President & CEO of Choose Chicago. “Their contribution to our Chinese New Year programming further builds on our bilateral cultural partnership with China and offers our local communities and visitors an enriching experience.”
