A Public Relations Mixer:

Learn About Professional Accreditations

January 27 Ÿ The Coffee Loft

This informal get-together for current holders of the APR and CPRC also serves as an information-gathering session for prospective candidates for both public relations accreditations.

(Sarasota, FL.) The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) is hosting a “Public Relations Mixer” for public relations professionals interested in earning accreditation in their field and for those who already have accreditation and would like to share their experience. Accreditation is a formal credentialing process for the public relations professional. The Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC) are two proactive, affordable “short-term-investment/long-term-benefit” opportunities available to FPRA members. This free event is Friday, January 27, 8:30 a.m., at The Coffee Loft, 5025 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. RSVP to Laura Haw, APR, at [email protected].

According to Laura Haw, APR, vice president of accreditation for the CWC-FPRA, the event will acquaint participants with the value of achieving accreditation, including the process and time commitment required. “The APR and CPRC, the second-tier credential, are recognized as a mark of distinction for public relations professionals who demonstrate broad knowledge of PR, sound professional judgment, strategic perspective and a high level of commitment to the profession and its ethical practice,” says Haw.

The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association meets monthly for professional development luncheons and networking. Visit www.cwcfpra.com for the latest details.
