Spend “A Night in Vienna” with the Canton Symphony Orchestra

CANTON, OH (January 4, 2017) – Come celebrate the New Year with a trip to Vienna, brought to you from Canton, Ohio. The Canton Symphony Orchestra plans to make your heart dance with an evening of waltzes and polkas. Your vacation (and the concert) starts on January 28, 2017 at 8:00pm at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall at the Zimmermann Symphony Center.

The program will start off with Pique Dame (Queen of Spades): Overture by Fraz von Suppé and Franz Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony No. 8. This will spark the mood for the second half of the concert where the real dancing begins with a selection of waltzes and polkas from Josef Strauss and Johann Strauss, Jr. The orchestra will also be led for part of the second half by their energetic Associate conductor, Rachel L. Waddell. There will also be a pre-concert talk regarding the history of waltzes and polkas at 7pm in Umstattd Performing Arts Hall.

Tickets for the Canton Symphony Orchestra concert on January 28, 2017 range in price from $28-$48 and are available online at www.cantonsymphony.org, by phone at 330-452-2094 or in person at the Canton Symphony Orchestra administrative offices in the Zimmermann Symphony Center at 2331 17th Street NW in Canton weekdays 9am-5pm.
