InspireSarasota! is off and running, many thanks to all of you who joined us at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Monday evening for the Celebration of the Arts!

Let’s take a look at the events planned for this week….
The Jazz Club of Sarasota is hosting two events this week.

October 26 Octoberfest Trolley Fest Pub Crawl on  from 5:30 – 10:30. Click for details.

October 28 Jazz at Two at 2:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church featuring the six piece Sarasota Jazz Project Big Band. Click for tickets and information.
The Center for Architecture Sarasota is hosting two events this week.

October 27 A reception and lecture from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Join  architect Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, as he  talk about “strategies that seek to transgress conventional boundaries for architecture.”  Click for reservations.

October 29 Noted Sarasota history expert and raconteur John McCarthy will lead an historical walking tour “The Citrus Tour” from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Click for details.
October 28 The Friends of the Selby Library present Mysteries to Die For from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. This event features New York Times best-selling author and latent print examiner for the City of Cape Coral, Florida police department, Lisa Black. Lisa will present her approach to what makes a great crime novel.

October 29 The culmination of the Sarasota Choral Festival that culminates with a concert, Alexander’s Feast by Handel at 4:00 PM. Tickets are available at KeyChorale.org

October 29 Open House at Patriot Plaza  An Inspirational Walk: Patriotism Through Art and Architecture  will showcase the outdoor art museum including the amphitheater and five large public artworks by four nationally known artists.

October 29 & 30 Ying Quartet with Bharat Chandler, clarinet present Mozart and Brahms chamber works at 7:30 PM. Click for details and tickets.
October 29 One of several Giving Hunger the Blues events, Giving Hunger the Boos Halloween Costume Party from 8:30 PM – 1:00 AM.
