The Sarasota-Manatee Originals “Dine to the Nines” Restaurant Week

Dine to the Nines at 45 local and independently owned restaurants during the first annual Sarasota-Manatee Originals Eat Like a Local Restaurant Week.

Sarasota, Florida ~ On September 15, 2016 The Sarasota-Manatee Originals hosted a kickoff event to celebrate the first annual Eat Like a Local Restaurant Week. For the first time restaurants from Anna Maria Island to South Venice have come together to create a community wide Restaurant Week, featuring members of The Originals – all locally owned restaurants.

Eat Like a Local Restaurant Week offers a vast selection of establishments, everything from fast casual to fine dining, and the kickoff event was the perfect place to bring together so many culinary backgrounds with members of the local media. Attendees noshed on delicious offerings from a handful of participating restaurants while sipping cold beer sponsored by Gold Coast Eagle.

An article published on www.restauranthospitality.com cites that research indicates restaurants participating in a cooperative Restaurant Week see an average increase in sales of 23%. The article also noted that restaurant servers also benefit, on average tips increased by about 22%.

Most importantly, Eat Like a Local Restaurant Week is one of the last chances for locals to truly enjoy great dining experiences while supporting your favorite locally owned businesses before seasonal residents flock back to the area.
